WORKSHOPS
Elevate+ features 15+ workshops running throughout the day on Saturday —from leadership development and practical skills training, to in-depth teaching on the foundations of worship and more. No matter where you serve, there’s a workshop for you.
Although some are specific to a few different teams these workshops are open to any volunteer.
WORSHIP: BEYOND THE MUSIC
In this session, we will explore the powerful role that worship plays in our everyday lives. We all worship something. Though it might be a surprise to some, worship is not about music and never about our Sunday morning experiences. Worship shifts the atmosphere in our lives and invites God on the scene. The Word leaves us with one final commandment to “Love God with all our heart, soul and mind.” What does this look like in a world where we are faced with so many competing distractions? We are to be a living sacrifice and worship in spirit and in truth. We will unpack how we can best give God the extravagant worship to which He alone is worthy.
ONE CONVERSATION CLOSER: HOW EVERYDAY CONVERSATIONS BUILD EXTRAORDINARY COMMUNITY
Great ministry often starts in small moments. Learn how to approach people and build meaningful connections, whether you have 30 seconds, a few minutes, or time for a deeper conversation. This workshop will help you move beyond familiar faces in the hallway and into intentional moments that build real community.
Together, we’ll explore practical communication skills for everyday interactions, tips for delivering excellent customer service, and healthy ways to navigate difficult conversations. You’ll gain tools you can use immediately in your volunteer role and beyond.
Recommended For: Resource & Info Centre, Hospitality, Ushers, Greeters, Cafe.
DISC: UNLOCKING TEAM DYNAMICS
Ever wonder why some people energize you while others stretch you? This session helps you understand different personality styles, how they communicate, and why they respond the way they do, giving you practical tools to build stronger teams. Learn to recognize and appreciate diverse personalities, and discover ways to connect with anybody.
Recommended For: All teams
COACHING TEAMS
Coaching is more than giving feedback. In this session, Pastor Jeremy Prest will walk you through how to lead with clarity and grace – setting expectations, addressing issues with care, and building trust while maintaining healthy, life giving relationships.
Recommended for: Anyone who leads on their volunteer team
PRAYING FOR OTHERS
Prayer is one of the most powerful ways we care for and support others, but many people feel unsure of what to say or how to pray confidently for someone else. In this workshop, Pastor David Craig will help remove the uncertainty and equip you to pray for others with faith.
You’ll learn practical, biblical principles for praying with and for people in everyday moments, how to listen to the Holy Spirit, and how to pray in ways that bring comfort, hope, and encouragement. We’ll also cover appropriate boundaries, sensitivity in different situations, and how to pray simply and authentically without pressure or performance.
Whether you’re praying with someone for the first time or looking to grow in confidence, this session will help you step into prayer as a natural, meaningful part of caring for others.
PUBLIC SPEAKING: PRACTICAL SKILLS FOR CHURCH STAGE COMMUNICATION
Learn how to become a dynamic speaker when communicating to any age group. These tools will help you become a more engaging communicator, and gain confidence in any format of public speaking you may do. Who is this for? Anyone who already teaches or emcees in some capacity at Springs (Kids, Youth, etc) and anyone who aspires to grow in their public speaking abilities.

ESSENTIAL TOOLS FOR A GREAT MIX
Great mixes don’t happen by accident—they’re built on a few core tools that shape clarity, balance, and impact. In this session, we’ll take a practical, hands-on look at the fundamentals that help turn a mix from messy to musical.
You’ll learn how to control dynamics, create space, and bring consistency to every instrument—so nothing feels lost, overpowering, or disconnected. By the end, you’ll have a clearer understanding of how to build a mix that feels tight, clean, and intentional.
OWNERSHIP & INCREASING YOUR PERSONAL CAPACITY
This workshop is for anyone who wants to increase their personal capacity. Raising your leadership “lid” and growing the influence you have. We will walk through biblical principles that show us how to handle more without losing the grace and peace that God wants us to walk in. These principles will be applicable in your volunteering but also in other areas of your life.
CONNECTING WITH TEENS
Connection is the foundation of effective youth ministry. This workshop will help you build confidence to connect with students through simple, intentional conversations that lead to trust over time. This session is designed to equip youth volunteers to move past fear, show genuine care, and build strong relationships with students.
THERE'S NO "JUNIOR" HOLY SPIRIT
Kids don’t receive a smaller version of God. This session explores how to help children recognize the Holy Spirit’s voice, respond to His leading, and grow spiritually in real, age-appropriate ways. Learn how to create space for genuine spiritual formation in Kids Ministry.
READY TO RESPOND: PRACTICAL SECURITY FOR MINISTRY TEAMS
This session provides practical security training focused on awareness, wise response, and de-escalation. Learn how to protect people, navigate tense moments, and maintain safety while honouring dignity and reflecting Christ’s love.
WALKING WITH OTHERS THROUGH THE STORM
When people walk through crisis or grief, they don’t need perfect answers, they need compassionate presence. This workshop equips volunteers to respond biblically and wisely to people facing life’s storms.
You’ll learn how to listen well, avoid common pitfalls that can cause harm, and know when to offer support and when to involve additional care. Using a simple CARE model, this session will help you walk alongside others with confidence, humility, and grace, reflecting the heart of Jesus in difficult moments.
MUSIC FOR PRODUCTION TEAMS
It’s important for a production team to understand the flow of praise and worship songs and how they’re designed and created. This will dive deep into the arrangement of music and how production teams can prepare and execute with excellence a service and quickly adapt to changing situations.
STORYTELLING THROUGH A LENS
Learn how focal lengths affect the feeling of a certain shot. This will help volunteers understand and learn a skill of picking out the right lens to portray the right emotion out of their camera. We will be going through examples of shooting the same framing but with different focal lengths and how each focal length affects the shot.
OWNERSHIP & INCREASING YOUR PERSONAL CAPACITY - FOR TEENS
This workshop is for anyone who wants to increase their personal capacity. Raising your leadership “lid” and growing the influence you have. We will walk through biblical principles that show us how to handle more without losing the grace and peace that God wants us to walk in. These principles will be applicable in your volunteering but also in other areas of your life.
