BRADLEY WARKENTIN
Brad Warkentin was initially given 2-4 months to live when he got hit with a devastating aggressive diagnosis of Stage 4 Glioblastoma brain cancer. However, Brad surpassed his “expiration date” and fought a hard 16 months with his family at hand. Brad passed away peacefully with his family by his side in the Morris Hospital on October 15, 2024, at 4:38 p.m. at the age of 55.
Brad will forever be missed by his wife Nicole; his son Eric; and his daughter Alissa. Left to mourn his passing are numerous cousins, nephews and nieces.
Brad was born on March 9, 1969, to Ed and Helen Warkentin. He grew up in Sanford MB along with his brother Kieth, and sisters Annette and Leanne.
A special thanks to Dale and Roy Federowich, his in-laws for all the help they provided. Lots of love and core-hearted memories are shared between this loving supportive family with the reminiscence of time well spent and appreciated. A special notion goes out to Chris Tyrrell for being a great friend that Brad would consider more so of a brother with the incredible bond they shared. Brad’s passion in career choice was home building as a site supervisor, everything Brad did was with excellence.
Brad devoted himself to loyalty, hard work, and the love of God. He was a righteous, true-hearted man with unwavering faith that was contagious to those around him. Brad was a firm believer in Christ and made a huge impact on everyone he came in contact with. Brad was the type of man that you would want in your corner in a tight situation. His character shines with altruism, always giving, helping, serving, and assisting with not expecting anything in return.
Many would describe Brad as selfless. Brad cared very fiercely and deeply about the ones he loved, his purpose down here on earth was to be a fountain of protection, wisdom, support, and love for his family and friends. So much so that everyone knew him as not just “Brad” but “Brad The Dad”. Brad’s kids wouldn’t trade him for anyone in the world, they were so proud of the man he is and was as they valued and adopted his morals, values and traits. He was a proud father, son, uncle, and friend. Brad is the type of person that you would cherish every second of being around, with a personality that would leave you laughing with his remarkable sense of humour. His personality in general would leave you feeling enamoured, wanting more.
Our loss is heaven’s gain. As hard as it is to let go of a man who was such a precise replication of Jesus, we are confident in where he went, he is now more alive than he’s ever been, in paradise, where there is no sickness, no sorrow, no trouble. He can now rest in peace, seated high with our heavenly father. This is not goodbye but rather see you soon Brad. Although you are no longer here, we will forever hear your voice, guiding and leading us like you have always done!
